Josephine Carra, 93, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was a remarkable homemaker who took great pride in creating a warm, loving, and welcoming home for the people she loved most.
On September 1, 1951, Josephine married the love of her life, Salvatore Carra. Together, they shared decades of devotion, hard work, and an unbreakable bond—one that continued long after his passing.
Family was the center of Josephine’s world. She is survived by her children Rick (Nancy), Petrina (Craig), and Annette (Sam). She was a devoted grandmother to Ricky (Bethany), Tracy, Rachel, Brandon (Courtney), Justin (Sabrina), and Amanda (Brad) and a proud great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren, with another expected in January. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She has been welcomed into heaven, where she is reunited with her beloved husband, Salvatore, her daughter, Marie, her parents, Antonina and Thomas, along with her three brothers and one sister.
Josephine’s kitchen was truly the heart of the family. Known for her exceptional cooking, she lovingly passed down her treasured recipes, ensuring that the old-world dishes that shaped so many family gatherings would live on through future generations. And nothing—absolutely nothing—compared to her homemade cannoli, which everyone eagerly looked forward to. She delighted in teaching her family the recipes that had been handed down through the years.
Her talents didn’t end with baking. Josephine also taught her family how to make fresh pasta from scratch, transforming simple ingredients into a beautiful expression of love. At family celebrations, she turned the kitchen into a joyful assembly line, guiding everyone with warmth and laughter.
Josephine’s spirit was bright and inviting. She could talk to anyone, anywhere, and make them feel as though they had known her forever. She cherished visits, family gatherings, and every moment spent surrounded by the people she held dear.
Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
