Joseph Sowiak Obituary

Joseph “Joe” Michael Sowiak, 68 of Clinton Twp., passed away on November 18, 2022.

Joe was born on April 16, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan and raised by his loving parents Sam and Josephine Sowiak. As a young man, Joe met the love of his life, and future bride Doreen “Doe”, at a softball after party. It wasn’t long after that they fell in love, and married September 20, 1980 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. Together, Joe and Doe raised two loving children; Joshua and Sarah. Family meant everything to Joe, and his love for his family knew no bounds. He was always there with an attentive ear, and solid advice for anyone who came to him. For 37 dedicated years, Joe worked for TRW as a technician. Joe retired in 2009. Joe enjoyed singing for the Lord, collecting knives, soaking up the sun and his big red truck. In his early years, he enjoyed motorcycles, playing semi pro football, hockey and softball; bowling and martial arts. One thing Joe was well known for was his strong relationship with the Lord, of which he made sure to share with his family, friends and anyone he met. Joe will be forever remembered by all for his unforgettable laugh and jokes, being a gentle giant, fearless fighter, and kind and loving to all.

Beloved husband of Doreen; loving father of  Joshua (Annette), Sarah, and Rachel and Papa Joe to Aiden, Gabriella and his beloved “grandogger” Lola; dear brother-in-law of Debbie (Ray), Kathy (Ron), Cy (Annette), Ann, Susie (Bob), Brian (Dee), and Mark; loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces, and nephews. Joe was loved by many more family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Betty Jean.
