Jerome Thomas Aganowski, born on September 8, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on February 27, 2025, at the age of 78. A resident of Chesterfield, Michigan, Jerome dedicated his life to family, service, and hard work.
Jerome proudly served in the United States Army from January 19, 1966, to January 18, 1972, including a tour of duty during the Vietnam War, from which he was honorably discharged. He went on to enjoy a successful career as a machine operator at Chrysler, where he worked diligently for over 30 years, ,prior to his retirement in 1999.
Married for 45 years, Jerome was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Felicia, providing her with love and support until her passing in 2012. Jerome was a true family man at heart, and he is survived by his beloved daughter, Phyllis Hutton, her husband, David Hutton, and his cherished granddaughter, Lindsey Hutton. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Thea Kenitzki Kinzer, brother-in-law, John Kenitzki, sister-in-law, Mary Aganowski, and his many nieces and nephews.
Jerome's passions included listening to the timeless music of Elvis Presley, playing card games, and watching various sports. He also took pride in his philanthropic efforts, contributing regularly to organizations such as the World Wildlife Fund, Michigan Humane Society, and Wounded Warriors foundations.
Jerome Aganowski leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service that will be remembered by all who knew him. His warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed.
Jerome was preceded in death by: Felicia Aganowski (wife), Edward Aganowski (father), Lucille Aganowsk (mother), Kenneth Aganowski (brother), and Patricia Pauley (sister).
