Jason Anthony Thompson

With heavy hearts and immense sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Jason Thompson at the age of 36. Born to Ernest Thompson and Erica Halyckyj in Mount Clemens, Jason had an exuberant spirit that will forever be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. 

Jason was a man who embraced life with a sense of spontaneity and adventure. He was always optimistic, quick-witted, funny, and charismatic. With his personable and easy-going personality, he honed his ability to talk to anyone and make them smile. Selfless, he was always willing to help a person in need and had an innate ability to see the good in people.

His love for animals was apparent to anyone who crossed his path; he had a heart big enough to bring home any critter that needed a helping hand, including his dear companion, Frank the Raccoon. Music was a constant presence in Jason's life, and he found solace and joy in its melodies. Jason was a jack of all trades; if he didn’t know how to fix it, he would learn how to do it. He was creative and artistic, and he found joy in both movies and literature.

Jason was a loving and dedicated father, cherishing the moments spent with his children and extended family. He was adamant about keeping the family together, particularly during the holidays, when he reveled in the joy of traditions while being surrounded by loved ones. Known for his childlike wonder, Jason's home was a place of fun and laughter.

"Carpe Diem" was the motto by which Jason lived his life. He believed in seizing the day, embracing each moment, and finding joy in simple pleasures. His infectious energy and zest for life brought smiles to countless faces and left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.

Beloved son of Geno Thompson; proud father to Killian, Keira, and expected son Gunner; cherished brother to Shelby Thompson and Aryn Bartow; adorned uncle to Alaska, Dallis, and Montana; along with many family members and friends.

He was joined in heaven by his loving mother, Erica Halyckyj, and grandmothers, Valentina Halyckyj and Nancy (Thompson) Yax.
