James “Jim” Mitchell Jodzis, age 57 of Washington, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.
Jim was born on June 8, 1965 to Chester and Barbara Jodzis in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from high school, Jim attended the University of Alabama Huntsville, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in social work and played for the hockey team. He would go on to work as a probation officer for many district courts, his last being the 36th District Court in Detroit. Jim truly had a passion for his profession, and truly loved his job and working in the city. Jim would meet the love of his life, and future bride, Michele, while working a temporary job at the Sterling Heights District Court where Michele also worked. They married on March 19, 1994 in a beautiful ceremony at St Thecla Catholic Church. Together, Jim and Michele raised three beautiful daughters: Alexandra, Brianna, and Gabriala. Jim was so proud of his daughters and all of their accomplishments. In Jim’s free time, he enjoyed doing yard work, jogging, watching his daughters sports game, and cheering on his favorite team the New York Rangers, he always loved a good meal (especially if it was polish food). Jim will be forever remembered for his strong spirit, strength and determination.
