In Loving Memory of James Carl Hanlon Jr.
February 22, 1954 – July 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and abiding hope that we announce the passing of James Carl Hanlon Jr., who entered the holy presence of God on July 4, 2025, at the age of seventy-one.
Born to James and Anne Marie Hanlon on February 22, 1954, Jim lived a life marked by courage, compassion, and a deep commitment to his faith. A man of boundless curiosity and unwavering principles, his days were devoted to learning, serving, and embracing the world around him.
A Life Rooted in Faith and Purpose
Jim was a devoted servant of God whose mission was to make Jesus known wherever he went. Through his work in local churches, his ministry through teaching, music, theater, and his daily walk in faith, he touched countless lives—offering wisdom, compassion, and spiritual guidance. His life was a living testimony of grace and service.
A Mind for Innovation and Hands for Creation
Jim’s love of technology made him quite the pioneer in his field. Enthusiastic about computers and cybersecurity, he had a gift for seeing ahead—recognizing how technology could shape the future while never losing sight of the present moment. This same insightful spirit flourished in his other interests: farming, hunting, camping, and cultivating the peace that nature generously offers.
He planted grapevines and fruit trees as an act of faith—trusting in God’s provision and finding joy in each harvest, each providing him quiet moments of reflection and gratitude for God’s faithfulness.
Having a great reverence for God and country Jim served in the United States Airforce as an Inflight Refueling Specialist, how befitting that he went to be with his Savior on July 4th. Jim’s favorite holiday.
The Heart Behind Legacy
Whether sharing stories around the altar, campfire or guiding young minds with his instinctive wisdom, Jim’s legacy is one of warmth, curiosity, and generosity. He taught by doing, led by example, and lived with both intellect and heart.
To know Jim was to witness kindness and conviction side by side—an adventurer with a scholar’s mind, a believer with a teacher’s soul.
Loved and Cherished Always
Jim is deeply missed by his beloved wife, Pamela, his children John, James (Kathleen), and Randall. James loved his grandchildren greatly: Oksana, Hope, Haylee, Matthew, Andrew, Skye, Emmerson, Gaia, Lincoln, and Hendrix. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Laura (Charlie), Donna, Mike, and Tim (Becky).
He now joins in Heaven those who went before him: his parents James and Anna Marie, his sister Patty, and his precious daughter Jessica.
A Final Reflection
Jim’s legacy lives on in every life he touched—through songs, sermons, laughter, quiet wisdom, and gentle strength. His presence remains woven into the fabric of family stories, shared faith, and the enduring joy he brought to the world.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
Forever remembered. Forever missed. Forever loved.
