James Gerald Gleason, age 76 of Clinton Twp., passed away
peacefully on April 23, 2022 surrounded by the love of his family.
Jim was born on October 22, 1945 in East Detroit, Michigan
to John and Eleanor Gleason. As a young man, Jim proudly served his country
during the Vietnam War. After the war, Jim came back to Michigan where he would
meet the love of his life, and future bride, Marie Nichols. They married on May
5, 1973 in East Detroit, and together shared 49 years of happiness. They would
raise two beloved daughters; Sindi and Jennifer. Jim was a wonderful father,
and was so overjoyed to become a grandfather (“Pa”) to his cherished
grandchildren. Jim was a hard worker and provider for his family, working many
years at the General Motors Tech Center in the experimental truck and bus
division. In his free time, Jim loved to work on his street rods and going out
to different car shows with the car club ‘Night Cruisers’. He also was an avid
outdoorsman, cherishing his time fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and boating.
However, the most important part of his life was his family, and the time he
was able to spend with them all.
Jim will be forever remembered by all who loved him.
