James Anthony Bonanno

James Anthony Bonanno, age 58 of Macomb, passed away on April 11, 2021.

James was born on April 16, 1962 to Jerome and Jeanne Bonanno in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man, James met the love of his life and future wife Maria Luisa Kafati while attending high school. They would marry in 1986, and together they raised three children: Jeannette, Jeninne, and Jordan. James loved to be a father to his dear children, and was overjoyed to become a grandfather with the birth of Elijah. He was a devoted correctional officer for 22 years starting at Western Wayne and later transferred to Macomb Correctional Facility where he finished out his career. In his free time, James enjoyed golfing with his friends and family, Michigan football, listening to Bruce Springstein, and traveling to Fort Myers. He was also a devoted Christian and trusted in Jesus for his salvation

James will be forever remembered by all who loved him.

Beloved husband of Maria; cherished father of Jeannette, Jeninne (Mark) Melkonian, and Jordan; proud grandfather of Elijah; loving son of Jerome (Fran); dear brother of Jerry, Joanie, the late Jena and the late Anne.

Visitation will take place on Friday, April 16 from 2-7PM at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. Memorial service at 4PM.
