Isabelle Rose Nieman

Isabelle Rose Nieman age 95 of Clinton Township passed away peacefully on October 5.

Isabelle was born on August 22, 1927 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to Charles and Rose (Gastmeier) Eppler. The youngest of 4 children. She graduated from Mt. Clemens High School in 1945. She worked in the Mt. Clemens pottery and then worked at the modern electric as a sales person and bookkeeper.

Isabelle was United in marriage to Leland H. Nieman on May 31, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Clemens. Together Isabelle and Leland raised their beloved children on their family farm where she tended to chickens, sold her eggs, and maintained the family business. For many years, Isabelle played in her 3 piece band the “Swing B.E.E.”. Where she played accordion at many parties and weddings throughout the area. She loved to play her accordion and sing! Isabelle would bright up any room with her smile and kindness and was always the life of the party. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran, in Fraser, the Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary Chapter #4 and was involved in the annual “21 Club” picnics for many years. She was an avid bowler, loved to sew, she loved to garden and preserve her own produce, and she also was an excellent cook.

Isabelle’s strong will, determination and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In 1983, Isabelle lost her beloved Husband Leland, but life would bring her a second love in her life with George Logghe. They married in 2004 and had several years together traveling and sharing special time with friends and family until the loss of George in 2007.

She was also preceded by parents Charles and Rose Eppler, brother Ellsworth Eppler, sisters Eleanor Penzien, Regina Timm, and several sisters and brothers in law.

Beloved Mother of Merrill Nieman, Wayne (Beverly) Nieman, Earl (Kathleen) Nieman, Duane Nieman, and Gloria (Richard) Zalewski; proud grandmother of Emilee (Brannon) New, Lee Nieman, Kip Nieman, Andrew (Erin) Zalewski and Daniel Zalewski. Also 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Thursday, October 20th- Visitation from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Friday, October 21st – Instate and gathering time at 10:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM.

Burial to follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens in Clinton Township.
