In Loving Memory of Irene Mary Bzdziuch
January 10, 1932 – October 2, 2025
Irene Mary Bzdziuch passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and devotion to her family and community.
Born on January 10, 1932, in Dearborn, Michigan, Irene was the youngest child of the late Andrew and Stella Matecki. Her early years were shaped by the love of her older siblings Bruno Matecki, Henry Matecki, and Jenny Nieznajko, all of whom preceded her in death.
Irene was the beloved wife of the late Frederick (Fred) Bzdziuch, who passed away in 1988. She was also predeceased by her cherished grandson James Andromalos and her dear companion of 21 years, Donald Figurski.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Tressy (Robert) Anderson and son James Bzdziuch, who will forever hold her close in their hearts. Irene also leaves behind her loving nieces Marlene (William) Riker and Sandra (James) Shoup and their families, nephew Thomas Matecki, and sister-in-law Cecylia Matecki.
A resident of Chesterfield Township for over six decades, Irene was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary Queen of Creation Catholic Church in New Baltimore. Her generous spirit shone through her years of volunteer work at the church’s Food Pantry.
Irene found joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending to her garden, exploring new places, gliding across the dance floor, and sharing laughter with family and friends. For the past eight years, she made her home at The Pines in Sterling Heights, where she formed many treasured friendships.
