Helen Maryrose Schuler, age 91, of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2022.
Helen was born on March 14, 1931 to Luigi and Rosina Garofalo in Detroit, Michigan. Helen came from a large, loving family being one of eleven children. As a young woman, Helen met the love of her life and future husband, Robert Schuler, who lived in her neighborhood. They married in 1958 and spent 35 beautiful years together. They raised two children; Janet and Debra. Helen loved nothing more than being a mother and was so overjoyed to become a grandmother and great-grandmother later in her life. She spent many years watching over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grew, which were times she cherished. Family was the most important thing in Helen’s life, and she always made sure everyone was well fed and loved. Helen’s beautiful spirit and giving heart will be forever missed by all who knew her.
Beloved mother of Janet (Sam) Aleo and Debra (Mark) Roettger; cherished grandmother of Nicole (Jeff) Edwards, Salvatore Aleo, Joseph (fiancée Alayna Karsten) Aleo, Kelly (Lorenzo) Fragnoli, and Bradley (Amy) Roettger; dear great-grandmother of Alex, Andrew, Lucas, Layla, Lily, and Bryce; loved sister of James Garofalo.
Helen joins in heaven her loving husband Robert W. Schuler, parents Luigi and Rosina Garofalo, and siblings Pat Garofalo, Sam Garofalo, Mary Lombardi, Anthony Garofalo, Victor Garofalo, Charles Garofalo, Frank Garofalo, Joseph Garofalo, and Richard Shar.
