Harriett Smith

 Harriett Louise Smith (Ford), age 93, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 12th 2025.  Born in Detroit, MI, in 1932 to Ernest Lloyd Ford and Dale Tawney Ford. Harriett lived a life filled with love, family, and joy.

 She was a devoted wife to Robert Smith, and a loving mother to her four children: Dave (who preceded her in death), John, Marybeth Thompson, and Dale (Gary) Strozeski. Harriett was the cherished grandmother of many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Family was the center of Harriett’s world, and she found her greatest happiness in the company of those she loved.
 

 Harriett was an avid reader and enjoyed countless hours getting lost in books. She also treasured traveling, particularly her trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, with Mackinaw Island holding a special place in her heart. Harriett called West Branch home for over 30 years, where she created lasting memories.

Harriett was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert, her son Dave, and her siblings Joyce and Keith. She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

 Harriett will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and the enduring love she shared with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, and her love and memory will never be forgotten.
