Harold “Hal” Charles Zelmanski of Clinton Township, MI. passed away peacefully on July 18, surrounded by his family.
Hal was born April 7th, 1933, in Detroit, MI to Leo Sr. and Victoria Zelmanski, he graduated from St. Ladislaus High School in Hamtramck, MI where he met his wife, Geraldine Nowak, they were married on June 20, 1953.
Following graduation Hal proudly served in the U.S. Army. Hal retired in 1995 after working 32 years with Chrysler Corporation. Hal was also a drummer in several polka bands throughout his life and is best known for his rendition of the La De Da, which was a classic that he played at all his children’s weddings. Above all Hal was a family man, he never missed participating in activities that his children and grandchildren were involved in, during retirement years Hal continued to enjoy being involved with his family and traveling with his wife.
Hal is survived by his wife of 69 years Geri Zelmanski, Children David (Linda) Zelmanski, Gary (Laurie) Zelmanski, Kenneth (Ramona) Zelmanski, Janice (Martin) DiFiore, and twin brother Jerry (Leona) Zelmanski. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by brother Leo Zelmanski Jr
Funeral mass will be held at St. Paul of a Tarsus in Clinton Township on Friday, July 22, 2022. Instate, or gathering time, 9:30 AM. Funeral mass at 10:00 AM.
