Gregory Charles Williams

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gregory Charles Williams, age 79, who left us on November 13, 2025. Born on October 6, 1946, to Harry and Betty Williams in the vibrant city of Detroit. Gregory lived a life rich in love and laughter.

Gregory, affectionately known as Greg, was not just a steadfast husband to his beloved wife Catherine, fondly called "Boney," for an extraordinary 59 years, but also a devoted father to their four cherished daughters. He was a family man in every sense, always putting his loved ones first and creating countless memories filled with joy.

A proud veteran, Greg served six honorable years in the Navy before embarking on a dedicated career as a Lieutenant with the Detroit Police Department. His commitment to serving his community was unwavering, and he was respected by many as a figure of integrity and strength.

Beyond his work, Greg had a heart for fun and leisure. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending his days on the golf course, engaging in bowling nights, or playing softball with friends. There was hardly a day that Greg didn’t enjoy at his favorite bar, Biggs, where stories were told. Greg and his friends even kept this tradition alive during covid, by turning the garage into a bar where the stories could continue.
 

Greg also delighted in trips to Florida and Hilton Head, where he could indulge his passion for golf amid beautiful surroundings. His zest for life and kindness touched everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and camaraderie.

Though our hearts ache in his absence, we take comfort knowing that his warm smile and generous heart will live on in our memories. Rest in peace, dear Gregory—you will be deeply missed.

Devoted husband to Catherine; loving father to Michelle, Kimberly, Kristen, and Jody; proud grandfather and great-grandfather to Kaitlyn (Arthur), Andrew, Isabella, Isaiah, Emily, and great-grandson Sonny Charles.
