Gregory Frank Walmsley

Gregory Frank Walmsley, age 66 of Chesterfield, passed away on April 4, 2023.

Gregory was born on October 29, 1956 to Frank and Catherine Walmsley in Highland Park, Michigan. As a young man working as a diner cook, Greg would meet the love of his life and future bride, Debra Downey. They married, and together shared 45 years of love and happiness. Greg and Debra would go on to raise three beloved children: Christina, Matthew, and Patrick. His family meant the world to Greg, and he was so overjoyed when he became a grandfather to his cherished grandchildren. Greg loved spending time with his grandchildren, and was always there to cheer them on at every baseball game or sports event that they were in. For 30 dedicated years, Greg worked for Chrysler Automotive as a truck driver before his well-earned retirement. In his free time, Greg enjoyed boating, playing cards (especially Euchre), driving around his neighborhood on his golf cart, and playing Christmas music..no matter what time of year! Greg will be forever remembered by all who loved him.

Beloved husband of Debra Walmsley; loving father of Christina (Bryan) Kijorski, Matthew (Christina) Walmsley, and Patrick (Angela) Walmsley; proud grandfather of Austin Kijorski, Blake Walmsley, Kayden Schankowski, and Easton Walmsley; dear brother of Robert (Sandra) Walmsley; and loved brother-in-law of Joan Walmsley.

Greg was preceded in passing by his parents, Frank and Catherine Walmsley.

Visitation to take place on Monday, April 10 from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, April 11 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Mount Clemens. Instate, or gathering time, 10:30 AM. Mass at 11:00 AM. Procession to St. Peter Cemetery to follow for burial.
