Grace Josephine Azar, age 74 of Macomb, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2023. Grace was born on August 6, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, to loving parents Matteo and Elizabeth Megna. Grace would go on to raise three beloved children: Thomas, Michael, and Lisa. Grace truly was the best mom, and later, grandmother. Her family was her entire world. She cherished every moment she spent with them. Grace was a fantastic cook and baker, preparing enormous feasts and desserts (especially her homemade cannoli), for all to enjoy. Grace was an amazing host at the holidays and loved cooking and decorating for family and friends. In her younger years, Grace was nicknamed, “farfalla,” meaning butterfly, for her love of dancing. Grace was a lifelong, devoted Catholic, who loved the Lord. Her life was a demonstration of God's unconditional love. Having "grace" means giving favor and goodness even when not deserved; her name describes her perfectly. Grace’s love reached many, always putting others before herself. Everyone invited into her home was family, even if not related. She was thoughtful, loving, and kind to all and she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Beloved mother of Thomas (Cassandra) Azar, Michael Azar, and Lisa (Rob) Watson; best Nonna to Kaylianna, Gavin, Alexa, Matheo, Gabriella, Sophia, and Julianna; dearest sister-in-law to Kathy Megna. Grace is also survived by loving nieces, family, and friends. Grace is preceded in passing by her loved parents Matteo and Elizabeth Megna, and brother Thomas Megna.
