Gerald William Kiss

Gerald William Kiss, age 81 of Sterling Heights, passed away on August 17, 2020.

Gerald was born on October 21, 1938 to William and Ann Kiss in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man, Gerald proudly joined the United States Army and served his country with honor during the Korean War. After his time in the service, he went on to earn his Associates Degree in criminal justice. In 1965, Gerald joined the Detroit Police Department where he worked until retirement in 1990 as a police officer. He would go on to meet the love of his life, Barbara Reicher, at a Hallmark in Eastland. They married in 1987, and together raised four children: Michael, Barbara, Jennifer, and Karen. In Gerald’s free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling with his family and friends. Gerald will be remembered as a beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend to all that had the honor of meeting him.

Beloved father of Michael Kiss, Barbara Ellis, Jennifer (Tim) Johnson, and Karen (Curtis Maki) Kiss; dear brother of Robert (Elizabeth) Kiss; proud grandfather of Paige, Keegan, Abigail, Jackson, Nathan, Lauren, Madeline, Noah, and Jonas.

Gerald was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Barbara Kiss and parents William and Ann Kiss.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 21 from 2-8PM. Funeral Service on Saturday, August 22 at the funeral home. Instate, or gathering time, 10AM. Service with military honors at 11AM.
