Fredrick Richard Binning Jr.

Fredrick Richard Binning Jr., a compassionate and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on June 4, 2024, in Macomb at the age of 88.

Born on March 19, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, Fred was the beloved son of Bernice and Fredrick Binning Sr. As the eldest of his siblings, Fred moved with his family to Michigan during his childhood.

After graduating from Highland Park High School, Fred embarked on a career journey that led him to Cunningham Drug Store, where he not only found employment but also found love in Patricia, a fellow employee. Their union blossomed into a beautiful marriage that spanned 65 wonderful years. Together, Fred and Patricia were blessed with three sons, Fred III, Bruce, and Steve, and Fred took pride in both being a provider for his family and a supportive father.

Throughout his professional life, Fred excelled as a salesman in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, showcasing his intrinsic gift of communication and persuasion. Known for his friendly demeanor and excellent people skills, Fred's charm endeared him to many who crossed his path. In his leisure time, he enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, pursuing his passion for award-winning wood carving, and relishing classic cars—an interest that brought him much joy and pleasure.

Fred's memory will live on in the hearts of his loving family and friends, as he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and warmth. A man of unwavering integrity and gentle spirit, Fred touched the lives of many with his generosity and genuine nature.

Beloved father of the Fred (Kasey), Bruce (Lynn), and Steve (Maria); loving grandfather of Rich (Olivia) Binning, Sarah (Bryan) Cassell, Kara (Michael) Lodato, Ashley Graczyk, Lisa (Anthony) Palazzolo, Kristin  (Brad) Dubuque, and Bethany (Mike) McPhillips; proud great-grandfather of Caroline, Easton, Peyton, Addison, Dominic, Xander, Noemi, and Alfie; dear brother of William (Susan) Binning, Carol Faith, and Jackie Wells. Fredrick is also survived by many loving family and friends.

Fredrick is preceded in passing by his beloved wife Patrica Binning, and dearest son Fred Binning III.

Visitation to be held on Sunday, June 9 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. Funeral service at 6:00 PM.
