It’s with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of our father, Frank Ruggero Jr., who left us peacefully on May 10, 2025 at the age of 92. Frank was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 16, 1933, to Frank and Virginia Ruggero. He lived a life full of happiness, love, and treasured moments.
Frank was a devoted husband to his late wife, Frances. Together, they raised a beautiful family of five children who have been blessed by his warmth and wisdom . Frank found immense joy in spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Family gatherings at their cherished cottage were filled with fun, laughter and making memories. Card games, shuffleboard, and spending time on the lake were just a few of his favorite up-north activities.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Frank was an unwavering fan of Detroit’s teams—the Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, and Pistons. His competitive spirit and joy for life shone through in all he did, whether playing football, baseball, and basketball in his younger years, or enjoying the sun as a snowbird in Florida. His love for sports was matched only by his passion for golf, a game he continued to play until the impressive age of 88.
Frank's kindness and magnetic personality touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He had an incredible ability to make anyone feel welcomed and special. His legacy of love, laughter, and joyous living will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends.
We honor him for his years of service in the United States Army, in which he served from 1953 until he was honorably discharged in 1955.
As we say goodbye to this incredible man, let us remember his vibrant spirit and the countless ways he enriched our lives.
