Frank Krause, age 82, of New Baltimore, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026.
Born on August 18, 1943, Frank lived a life defined by love, laughter, family, music, and creativity.
Frank was the devoted husband of Michelle Krause, the love of his life. Married on August 4, 1990, they built a beautiful life together, full of joy and deep devotion.
He dedicated over 30 years of service to General Motors, but many in the community knew him best as “The Original Frankie DJ.” For just as many years, Frank brought life to countless weddings and celebrations, sharing his gift of music with others. Being a DJ was more than a profession — it fulfilled his heart. He was especially proud to pass his DJ knowledge and passion down to his son, Frank.
Frank had a creative spirit. He loved woodworking and was known for crafting stunning illuminated glass bottle art, which he proudly displayed at local craft shows. He found peace in nature, loved soaking up the sunshine, and never missed a chance to take his dog for a ride. A daily stop at his favorite local spot, the Country Inn, was simply part of his routine and resulted in lifelong friendships for both he and Michelle.
With his loud, outgoing personality and unmistakable presence, Frank had a way of making friends wherever he went. He was proud to serve as Vice Chair of the New Baltimore Downtown Development Authority, Vice Chair of Art on the Bay, member of New Baltimore Civic Club and as an Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his children, Frank (Kari) and Kerri; his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mikalah, and Nicole (Dave); his mother-in-law, Patricia Chmiel; his sister-in-law, Cindy(Jim); his brother-in-law, Michael (Megan); and his sister, Joanne.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Madeline; his father, Edward; his stepfather, Ralph; his siblings, Carol and Rocco; and his father-in-law, Henry Chmiel.
Frank’s life was one well-lived — filled with music, art, sunshine, and the deep love of his family. He will be remembered for his big personality, generous heart, and the joy he brought to every room he entered.
