Frank Michael Hernandez (December 3, 1937 - September 23, 2024)
Frank Hernandez, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on September 23, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on December 3, 1937, Frank lived a full and vibrant life, filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Frank was born in Belmont, Iowa to Vincente and Magdalena Hernandez. He graduated from Delavan High School in 1955 and went on to further his education at Mankato State University. He would meet the love of his life, Carmen Diaz and they would wed and cherish three wonderful children
After retiring from General Casualty Insurance, Frank enjoyed exploring his hobbies and interests. He was an avid shopper at garage sales and loved finding things to add to his collection of knick knacks, a thrill-seeker at casinos, and a passionate traveler. Frank loved dancing, watching sports (especially NBA and NFL), and spending time with his loved ones.
Frank is survived by his children, Vincent “Ricky”, Julie (Edward), and Michelle (Dave); siblings Sebastion, Beatrice, ✟Chris, and Emily; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. His eldest granddaughter, Nicole, held a special place in his heart, as he was the only father figure she ever knew. Their bond was unbreakable, and Nicole cherished their relationship throughout her life.
Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carmen Hernandez, who passed away on April 16, 2021, along with his grandson’s late wife Meranda Arnold, and his siblings Isidore, Cyriaco, and Linus.
Frank's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, and spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.
"Dad, it broke our heart to see you go so sudden, but we find peace and comfort knowing you are once again with your true love, our mother."
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of neurological Intensive Care Unit at Henry Ford Hospital in Macomb, for the compassionate and heartfelt care they have provided until the very end.
