Frank Guastella Obituary

Frank T. Guastella, age 92 of Macomb, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family.

Frank was born on July 7, 1928 to Filippo and Ignazia Guastella in Detroit, Michigan. As a young man, Frank proudly joined the United States Army where he served his country with honor during the Korean War. Frank left the Army as a Sargent, and returned to his job as a tax specialist at the title company he worked at. It was at work that fate would bring him to meet the love of his life, and future bride, Janice Vogel. They soon fell in love, and were married at St. Juliana Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. Together they raised four children; Cynthia, Frank, Mary Ellen, and Julie. Frank loved being a father to his children, and was overjoyed when he became a grandfather to his seven beloved grandchildren. Family was always important to Frank, not only the time he spent with them but the relationships that they all built with one another. He was extremely close with his grandchildren, and his many nieces and nephews. He cherished the time not only spent with his loved ones, but also catching up on the phone to always be a present part of their lives (whether they are near or far). Frank had a magnetic personality, making friends wherever he went. His loving heart and sweet soul shined through and touched many. Frank also had an amazing sense of humor, and a gift of telling stories. In addition, he enjoyed grocery shopping and sharing with his family where to find the best weekly specials! Frank and his wife Janice were long time parishioners at St. John Vianney, a parish they both loved.

Frank will be forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.

Beloved husband of 58 years of Janice; cherished father of Cynthia (Bernard) Campion, Frank Guastella, Mary Ellen (Gregory) Abraham, and Julie Boscaglia; proud grandfather of Marina, Emilee, Kyle, Isabella, Oliva, Brandon, and John. He was also survived by many dear nieces, and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Filippo and Ignazia; and siblings Vitina, Frances, Mary, Sylvia, Stephanie, Steve, Joe and Lina.
