Frances Foster Obituary

Frances Ann Foster, a.k.a. Fefee, was born at home in Morann, Pennsylvania, on October 26, 1947. Fran moved to Detroit, Michigan when she was six years old. Right after graduating from Denby High School, Fran began her career at what was then Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company, located off E. Jefferson on the Detroit River. Fran stayed with the company through several mergers and, in the end, retired as a Production Supervisor for what is now Pfizer, based in Rochester, Michigan, not Detroit. Fran had many lifelong friends and numerous friends from Parke-Davis, who she was still close to all these years later.

Fran’s true love was football, especially the Michigan Wolverines! Fran was a season ticket holder for over 50 years and genuinely loved all things “Michigan,” especially during the days of Coach Bo Schembechler. Fran was also an avid fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Lions, and Tigers. In her early years, Fran loved to bowl and sail her 16 foot sailboat at Stony Creek Metropark, and we should not forget either her many years of watching the PGA and her love for Jack Nicklaus! Fran loved sports and was always in the stands watching her nieces and nephews play football, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, and volleyball, and participate in Irish Step Dance and horseback riding. Those were the sports she loved the most.

Upon her mother, Louise's, death in 2003, Fran naturally took on the role of the Matriarch of the Miscavish Family. There was never any better place to be than Fefee’s house for every holiday. We will miss her famous cheesy potatoes, gravy, pretzel Jello, and, of course, Aunt Leah’s homemade pierogi. Christmas was not Christmas until you saw the Maize & Blue glow of Fefee’s Christmas tree!

We will remember Fran for her enthusiasm for life, her love for dancing and music, for being a true friend, a wonderful, generous sibling and Aunt, a well-stocked basement “7-11” with everyone’s favorite snacks and drinks,Iced Capps from Tim Hortons, and her unwavering Faith. By leaning on her Faith, she was able to courageously face her battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Though she would still love to be with us today, she trusted God’s decision and knew it was time to go home. Time to reunite with her parents and so many friends who went before her into eternal life. Fran was a blessing to all she met, and we know she organized a dance party in Heaven upon her arrival! Though we are not sure which artist she will play first, Mercy Me, Smokey Robinson, Elvis Presley, Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, or AC/DC!

Beloved sister to Joseph (Carol), Peg (Dennis) Lozon, and John (Maureen) Miscavish; cherished Aunt to Cary Ann (Keith) Bankston, Steven (Izabela) Miscavish, Megan Lozon, Kaitlyn (Jacob) Bemiss, Jonathan (Lauren) Miscavish, Daniel Miscavish, Noah Bankston, Michael Bankston, Ana Miscavish, and Kate Miscavish

Joined in Heaven by her dear parents, Anthony and Louise Miscavish

Burial will take place at St. Barbara Cemetery, located in Brisbin, Pensylvania.
