Floyd Joseph Arnott, age 96 of Macomb, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family.
Floyd was born on November 9, 1924 to George and Hannah Arnott in Detroit, Michigan. It was in Detroit, at the A & P store, that Floyd would meet his future bride and love of his life Helen Argile. As a young man, Floyd proudly joined the United States Army (CO B 66TH SIG BN) where he served his country during World War II. After the war, Floyd started his career in the insurance industry where he worked for over forty years. His strong work ethic is something he instilled in his children, and grandchildren. In his free time, he loved to travel with is wife, dance, try his luck at the casino, and golf. He was also an avid Notre Dame football fan.
Floyd will be forever remembered by all who loved him.
Beloved father of James (Kathleen) Arnott, and Lynn (the late John) Arnott-Bryks; cherished grandfather of Heather Arnott, Jason Arnott, Todd (Annie) Arnott, Kelly (Michael) Borelli; loving great-grandfather of MacKenzie, Hunter, Delaney, Nikola, Sophia, Brady, Tessa, and Michael. Floyd was also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in passing by his loving wife Helen Arnott, parents George and Hannah, and siblings Russell (the late Janet) Arnott Sr., and Sister Ruth Arnott.
Visitation to take place on Tuesday, November 16 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral mass on Wednesday, November 17 at St. Isidore Catholic Church. In state, or gathering time, 9:30 AM. Service at 10:00 AM. Procession to follow to Resurrection Cemetery where military honors and committal prayers will take place.
