It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fabio Zafferani, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Fabio departed this life on March 30, 2025, at the age of 70, in Macomb, Michigan. Born in the Republic of San Marino (Italy) on November 30, 1954, Fabio brought the warmth of his Italian heritage to every gathering, filling homes and hearts with love and laughter.
Fabio is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Zafferani, and his cherished children: Nichole Serenko (William), Goseppe Zafferani (Michelle), and Toni Pruss (Jeff). He was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Goseppe, Giovanni, Gino, Gianna Zafferani, Alex, Jackson, Lilliana Pruss, and William III, Halie Serenko. He was the loving son of Giuseppina Zafferani, whose guidance shaped him into the remarkable man he was. He was a loving brother to, Renzo (Vivien) Zafferani, Paula (Al) Catana, Velma (Jeff) Craig and Emi (Ron) Gray.

A passionate outdoorsman, Fabio treasured every moment spent in nature, whether it was hunting, fishing, or kayaking. He embraced - life, while working on the family farm, where he imparted invaluable life lessons to his grandchildren, instilling in them a deep appreciation for the natural world and the importance of family.
Fabio’s intrigue for innovation led him to explore the realms of green energy, electric cars, and windmills, showcasing his belief in progress and the importance of preserving our planet for future generations.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 2-8 pm at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home, 46530 Romeo Plank, Macomb, MI 48044.
In celebrating Fabio’s life, a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:00 am, at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor his legacy, share their memories, and find solace in the community he cherished so deeply. A reception will follow at the Italian American Cultural Center, allowing all to reminisce and celebrate the life of an extraordinary man.
Fabio Zafferani will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his adventurous spirit, and his boundless enthusiasm for life. He leaves behind a legacy of fond memories and life lessons that will be carried on through the generations. He will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
