Eugene Doppke

Eugene Doppke, age 81 of St. Clair Shores, passed away April 1, 2020. He was born and raised in Hamtramck and embraced the Polish culture, continuing to be proud of his heritage throughout his life.  Eugene married Patricia, the love of his life on June 20, 1964. Together they had four children; Brian, Carol, Diane, and Paul. He was known as Papa Gene’o to most people. He was a proud veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 4 Honor Guard . He loved spending time outdoors and loved hunting. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking but he especially loved spending time with his family.

Loving husband of Patricia; beloved father of Brian (Mary) Doppke of St. Clair Shores, Carol Doppke of St. Clair Shores, Diane (Rob) Bachula of Macomb, and Paul (Julie) Doppke of St. Clair Shores; cherished grandfather of 4 granddaughters and 5 grandsons. He is also survived by many extended loved ones and friends.

Predeceased by his parents Frank Doppke and Sophie Czarnecki; siblings Lillian (Edward) Wojtys, Frank Doppke, and Theresa (George) Thomas.

He will be greatly missed.

Private interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
