Eric Kelly Burns, aged 55, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024.
He was born on May 24, 1969, to James and Dorothy Burns in Detroit, Michigan. Eric married his love, Sheree Marrese, on July 5, 1996, at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, and together they raised their son, Keegan Burns.
Eric was a dedicated engineer in the automotive field for over 30 years, where his passion for designing and building shone brightly. If Eric could dream it, he could design and build anything. He also loved the great outdoors, fast cars, boats, and motorcycles. Traveling with Sheree and Keegan was another joy for Eric, and they explored various parts of the world together, including Italy, Mexico, and numerous destinations across the United States.
A sports enthusiast, Eric delighted in attending Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football games as well as many sporting events on family trips. His brave battle against metastatic uveal melanoma showcased his incredible strength and resilience, never once giving in to complaint.
Beloved husband of Sheree Burns; proud father of Keegan Burns; cherished son of Dorothy Burns; dear brother of April (the late Mike) Gallagher, and Matthew Burns; loved son-in-law of Ronald and Susan Marrese; and treasured brother-in-law of Colleen Marrese-Reading. Eric is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Eric is preceded in passing by his loving father James Burns and his sister Christine Marcum.
