Elias Anis Elias, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 78 after a brief battle with leukemia.
Born on July 6, 1946, in Syria to Anis and Miriam Elias. Elias enjoyed the simple joys of life, especially those found in nature. He found solace in nurturing his garden and much pleasure in sharing the bounty of his many vegetables and herbs each summer. In winters, he was the first out on snowy days shoveling before leaving for work and the last to come in at night. He took pride in his strength and ethic for hard work. Elias also found great comfort in his daily walks, regardless of the weather. His only indoor love was singing. He spent many years singing in the church choir alongside his brother, Philip, and friends over the years at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church of Berkley. Elias spent over 40 years working for General Motors before retiring to spend more time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, children and many siblings. He will be missed by his friends and family and his memory will carry on among those he loved.
Husband to Aida; loved father to Anis (Elaine), Michael, Kevin (Vicky), and Lisa (Alexi); proud grandfather to Evan, Gregory, Matthew, Elleana, Alexis, Emma, Melina, John, Markella, and Olivia; treasured brother to Philip (Miriam), Philibia (late Wahib), Afif (Lucy), Adibeh (Moussa), Michael (Lisa), Sanaa, and Dana.
Joined in Heaven by his first wife, Victoria, parents Anis and Miriam, and his sister Nawal
