Elaine Robinson, age 64, passed away on September 29, 2023.
Elaine was born on September 18, 1959 to Herbert and Ruth Robinson in North Bay, Ontario. She grew up in Swartz Creek and a long time resident of Jackson, MI.
Elaine's one true passion was historic preservation especially in Michigan. She was an architectural historian and obtained a masters degree in historic preservation from Eastern Michigan University. She worked with individuals and communities to preserve their history. Elaine was an active volunteer for the Michigan Historic Preservation Network (MHPN) for nearly 22 years! She was involved in every activity with this organization including assistance with conferences, fundraising, communications (ie. Newsletters), political lobbying and much, much more .
Elaine loved her cats, Betty Davis, Kai Ryssdal, and Virgil Flowers. She called them her “kids”! She loved traveling, having a camera in her hand, reading and spending time with her family and friends virtually or in person. Elaine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Loved daughter of Herbert; cherished sister to Anne (Mike) McDonald, Michael (Melani) Robinson, and Glen Robinson; proud aunt to her nieces and nephews Kayden (Patti Jo) Robinson, Lauren (Rachel) Szymarek, Nicholas (Tricia) McDonald, and Paul McDonald; beloved great-aunt to Sara and James McDonald.
Joined in heaven by her loving mother, Ruth.
Elaine will be missed by her 2nd family made up of her many friends who reached out to her during her recent illnes.
