Edward Jasion Obituary

Edward John Jasion, aged 96, passed away on April 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on February 3, 1928, in Hamtramck, Michigan, Ed was the cherished son of John and Lottie Jasion. Growing up in Detroit, he enlisted in the military after graduating from high school, serving during the Korean War in Germany. Following his honorable service, Ed met the love of his life, Bernie, at a dance, leading to a whirlwind romance that culminated in their marriage on July 24, 1954. Together, they raised four adored children – Margaret, Bob, Mike, and Ray – embodying love, devotion, and unity.

A diligent provider and dedicated husband, Ed was a man of many talents and passions. From listening to big band music to flying R.C. planes he built, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. A gifted photographer and accordion player, he even partook in a polka band during his youth. Edward's love for motorcycles, particularly his rebuilt Honda, brought him countless moments of freedom and exhilaration in his younger days.

With utmost fondness, Ed adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, imparting the values of family unity and enduring love. His presence, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beloved father of Margaret (Richard) Davis, Bob (Leah) Jasion, Mike (Tina) Jasion, and Ray (Denise) Jasion; proud grandfather of Elizabeth (Michael) Myers, Melissa (Ethan) Powers, Alexandra (Luis) Renteria, Julia Jasion, Ryan Jasion, and Nicholas Jasion; cherished great-grandfather of Morgan and Elise.

Ed is preceded in passing by his loving wife Bernie Jasion, and dear parents John and Lottie Jasion.

Visitation for Ed will take place on Wednesday, April 10 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home. Procession to Resurrection Cemetery to follow where military honors and committal prayers will take place before burial.
