Doreen Joyce Saputo

Doreen Joyce Saputo (nee Buckland), age 67, passed away on September 30, 2023. 

Doreen was born to the late Charles and Barbara Buckland on April 25, 1956 in Mount Clemens. She raised three wonderful children during her lifetime. Doreen was a dancing queen, and she could sing like Cher. She was a talented artist and great writer. She was a great Mom and a best friend to her daughters and a lifelong champion of her son. She was a devoted, loving, and proud Nana. Doreen was a long time loyal employee to BCBSM. She was always kind and gentle, loving and supportive to her many friends and family. She never tired of spending time with her family and friends. Doreen is described by her sisters as a “gentle, sweet, silly and funny Sistah”, with whom she always took her annual sisters trip with. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Cherished mother to Rachel (Dennis) Chojnowski and Leah (Christopher Himes) Wieczorek; loved sister to Kathy (John) Basye, Sharon (Dan) Danielczyk, Gail (Larry) Pease, Paula Spencer, Lori (Mike) Farrah, and Chuck (Michelle) Buckland; proud Nana to Nancy, Amelia, Olivia, Noah, and Lydia; Dog mom to Dusty; Dog nana to Ellie and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. 

Joined in Heaven by her son Aaron Wieczorek and sister Lynn Streberger.
