Don (Donald) Walter Koch, age 85, passed away on February 16, 2024, in Detroit. Born to Walter and Elizabeth Koch on September 4, 1938, he was a sports enthusiast, engaging in golf, baseball, football, and bowling throughout his life. Known for his love of the casino, he was never one to turn down a game of chance. Don enlisted in the army, where he proudly served his country.
Don's vibrant personality and great sense of humor made him the life of every party, always welcoming others with kindness. His ability to draw people in with his warmth and wit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Beloved Uncle of Suzanne (Robert) Bellano, Gloria Olschefski, Greg Olschefski, and Pamela (Dan) Veenbaas. Cherished Great-Uncle of William Bellano and Jonathan Bellano. Proud Godfather of Shannon Wernette and Danny Wernette. Don is survived by many loved ones and friends. Visitation on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home, 46530 Romeo Plank Road (South of 21 Mile Road) from 2:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home Thursday, February 22, 2024, 10:00 until 11:30 am.
Joined in Heaven by his loving wife, Marilyn; twin brother Ronald Koch, sisters Phylis Koch and Darlene Hudson.
