Donald Rewers, age 71 of Clinton Twp., passed away on March 17, 2021.
Donald was born on May 2, 1949 to Albin and Agnes Rewers in Bay City, Michigan. As a young man, Don attended Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. It was in college that he would also meet the love of his life, and future bride, Mary Neugebauer. They quickly formed a close friendship and later started to date. Don and Mary married on April 27, 1974 at St. Blaise Catholic Church in Sterling Heights. Together, Don and Mary raised three children: Becky, Matt, and Julie. Don loved being a dad, and was overjoyed when he became a grandfather later in his life. His family was the most important part of his life and he enjoyed spending his time with them. Don loved to travel and went on many cruises with his dear wife. He also loved to fish with his son, Matt, and later with his grandson, Conner. Don was also a master gardener, and could make anything grow. He used his talents for the St. Peter Catholic Church Charity Garden and would regularly help donate items from the gardens to local soup kitchens and food pantries.
Don’s loving spirit and kind heart will be missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Mary; cherished father of Becky (Tom) Cole, and Julie (Tina) Amore; proud grandpa of Emma Cole, Conner Cole, and Mattison Amore; dear brother of Rita (the late Ken) Laetz and Peter (Dottie) Rewers.
Don was preceded in passing by his loving son Matthew, parents Albin and Agnes, and siblings Johnny and Jeanette Rewers.
Visitation will take place on Friday, March 19 from 2-8PM. Funeral Mass to take place on Saturday, March 20 at St. Peter Catholic Church at 11 AM. In state, or gathering time, at 10:30 AM.
