Dolores (Dee) Mary Sochacki, beloved wife of the late Rev. Richard (Dick) Sochacki, peacefully passed away on July 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Dee was born on April 7, 1939, to Ernest and Jeanne Loisy, in Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada, later moving to Detroit, Michigan, where she found her heart and home.
As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Dee cherished her family, but most of all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She and her husband, Dick, pastored the Bread of Life Church and later founded Barnabas Ministries. Dee’s passion for the Lord, studying and teaching the Bible, touched many lives, leaving an eternal impact on many who knew her. Dee had a special gift of hospitality, opening her home to many traveling ministers, missionaries, and others who needed a warm bed and home cooked meal. She always had a listening ear and encouraging word for those seeking her counsel.
Dee’s creativity knew no bounds. She found joy in blessing others with her cooking, baking, quilting, sewing, painting, and scrapbooking. The many beautiful creations she has left behind give testament to her vibrant spirit. Dee will be remembered for her powerful life-changing testimony and her love of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Beloved mother of Paul (Tara) Sochacki, Lisa (Dave) Lankheet, Julie (Ed) Hess, and Nicole (Jon) Zabick; loving grandmother of Aaron Sochacki, Jennifer (Brandon) Caldwell, Grace Sochacki, Julienne Sochacki, James (Hannah) Hess, David (Maddie) Hess, Dr. Mark Hess, Douglas Zabick, Joshua (Andrea) Lankheet, Erin (Jeffrey) Burton, Sarah (Dustin) Penner, Hannah (Eric) Bylsma; proud great-grandmother of Liam Caldwell, Lyndon Caldwell, Raeanne Caldwel, Roux Caldwell, Micah Lankheet, Elizabeth Lankheet, Caleb Lankheet, Abigail Lankheet, Oliver Burton, Evelyn Burton, Jediah Penner, Ellianna Penner, Annabell Penner, Moses Penner, and Baby Hess (to be delivered soon); cherished sister of Denice Loisy. Dolores is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Dee has now been met in heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited with her loving husband, Rev. Dick Sochacki, her siblings Don Loisy, and Jeanne Loisy, as well as her parents, Ernest and Jeanne Loisy. Oh, what a joyous reunion this must be!
