With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Michael Cieslak, age 71, who left us on September 6, 2025. Born on April 29, 1954, to Chester Cieslak and Loretta Rebant in the heart of Detroit, Dennis was a beloved father, brother, and friend whose spirit and generosity touched the lives of everyone he met.
Affectionately known as "Mr. Fix-it," Dennis had an extraordinary talent for repairing anything that came his way. He tackled it all with a smile and an unmatched zest for life. His passion for classic cars was only rivaled by his love for classic rock, keeping a steady beat on the drums as he enjoyed the melodies that shaped his years.
Retiring from General Motors in 2015 after 38 years of service, Dennis found joy in traveling, especially to the beautiful landscapes of Traverse City. He cherished time spent playing games with family, and laughing and sharing stories with family and friends. A dedicated sports fan, he was always ready to cheer for his teams, and his sweet tooth was famous—especially his love for chocolate-covered raisins!
Dennis was often found enjoying his favorite TV shows, such as Judge Judy, Cops, and Maury, with family by his side. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering support will be deeply missed, but will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Rest in peace, Dennis. Your legacy of love and laughter will forever echo in our hearts.
Devoted husband of Kathy (Caras) Clayton; proud father of Nicholas John (Jenny), and David (Ashley) Clayton; beloved brother of Kathleen (William) Fleser, Kim (Mark Sawyer) Lenczewski, Kendra (Rick) Rozell, and Ronald (Ed Priebe) Rebant; cherished grandfather to Tyler, Chris, and Nathan; Dennis is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joined in Heaven by his loving parents Chester and Loretta, step-father Frank Rebant and step-sister Debora Tempalski
