David Owen Williams

David Owen Williams, aged 87, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024.

Born on March 14, 1937, to his loving parents, Jim and Jean Williams, in Detroit, Michigan, David led a remarkable life filled with cherished memories and simple pleasures. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating many years of his career to General Motors Hydromatics Plant until his well-earned retirement.

David took pride in his cherished home on Lake St Clair where he enjoyed entertaining, relaxing, and spent numerous hours in his yard. Dave’s Dockside was always fully stocked and open for a drink! Although generous, he was not quite as quick to share his peanut M&Ms! David was known by many to frequent his favorite local pubs including the former Cheers, Jiggers, and Tin Fish as well as The Lighthouse (“Nut House”), Lega’s, Off The Hook, and his most recent favorite Fraternal Order of Eagles. David will always be remembered for his jokester personality, known to all his family and friends.

Aside from his fondness for the local pubs and his serene waterfront abode, David's greatest joy stemmed from the love he had for his family and adoration for his grandchildren. Renowned for his joy and laughter in sharing funny stories and jokes, something his friends and family will greatly miss.

David will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Beloved father of Debbie (Keith) Lally, Darren Williams, Traci (Frank) Starke, Todd (Danielle) Williams, and David (Maria) Williams; proud grandfather of Sara (Emanuel) Tselios, Troy, Austin, Alec, Jadon, Devin, Connor, Brooke, Erika, and Brandon; cherished great-grandfather of Harper; dear brother of Jim Williams and Joan Carlton. David is also survived by many loving family and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on August 30, 2024 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles (7542 Psalms Road, Ira Township, MI 48023) from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM.
