David Carter Obituary

David Allan Carter, a beloved husband, and devoted father peacefully passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 60. David, known affectionately as Dave, was born on May 6, 1963, in Garden City, Michigan, to his loving parents Charles and Betty Carter.

Dave attended Garden City East High School, from where he graduated in 1981. It was during the summer of 1985 that fate brought Dave and the love of his life, Renee, together, as they both worked at a local Toy Store. Their connection blossomed, resulting in their joyful union on October 11, 1986 at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Garden City. Soon after, he embarked on a career at Rite Aid, dedicating 33 years of unwavering commitment and integrity to his work

Together, Dave and Renee embarked on a beautiful journey and were blessed with two wonderful children, Justin and Amanda. Family meant the world to Dave, and he embraced his role as a father and husband with unwavering love and commitment.

Dave's insatiable thirst for knowledge fueled his passion for learning. He had a meticulous nature, always striving to do things right and refusing to take shortcuts. With his keen interest in mechanics, he found solace in tinkering with cars and motorcycles, with a particular affection for his beloved Harley Davidson bike.

Sports held a special place in Dave's heart, and he delighted in cheering on his favorite teams, such as the Lions, the Tigers, and the University of Michigan football team. He would often share his passion for the game with his loved ones, creating lasting memories.

Dave touched the lives of those around him with his compassionate nature, infectious smile, and unwavering kindness. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beloved husband of Renee Carter; proud father of Justin Carter, and Amanda (David) Ostergaard; cherished son of Charles Carter; dearest brother of Janis Spears, and Carol (Thomas) Balfour; best owner of cherished dogs Oakley and Balto. Dave is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family, and numerous friends.

Dave is preceded in passing by his loving mother Betty Carter, and siblings Charles Carter Jr., Joyce Carter, and Dennis Carter.
