Daniel Diaz Aleman, age 100, of Capac, Michigan, and formerly of Center Line, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 17, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma; his parents, Pedro and Matiana Aleman; his daughters, Laura Poulsen and Lupe Harris; his sons, Robert Aleman and Manuel Aleman; his sister, Ramona Guerrero; and his brother, Juan Aleman (Connie).
Daniel is survived by his children, Cheryl Martin (Jeff), Debra Walker (David), Daniel Aleman (Dr. Scott Sturza), Dawn DiTrapani (Ed), Diane Gilliland (Bill), Wanita Zimmerman (David), Gilbert Aleman (Gloria), Maria Aguinaga, Beatrice Guerra (Gilbert), Prescillana Salazar (the late Ruben), Ofelia Alexander (the late Bob), Jane Miller, Estella Wronski (Joel), and Irma Benavides (the late Randy). He is also survived by 44 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren. His sister Elma Gonzales (the late Wally).
Daniel was born on May 30, 1926, in Madero, Texas. Throughout his life, he worked diligently at a variety of jobs in both Texas and Michigan before beginning a long and rewarding career with General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. He retired in 1991.
Above all else, Daniel cherished his family. His face would light up whenever he was surrounded by loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time fishing on his boat with his good friend Joe and deer hunting. His large garden, filled with fruits and vegetables that he lovingly cultivated and shared with family and friends, reflected the knowledge and work ethic he developed during his years in migrant farming.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home, 46530 Romeo Plank Road, Macomb, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. In-state visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until noon at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. A procession will follow to Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, 38425 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, Michigan, for burial.
Daniel's legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and generosity will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved him.
