Cosimo Simonetta Jr.

Cosimo Simonetta Jr., age 70 of Sterling Heights, passed away on October 30, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones.

Cosimo was born on June 29, 1952 to Rose Mary and Cosimo Simonetta Sr. in Dearborn, Michigan. Cosimo was raised in a large family full of love, and was one of eleven children. He graduated high school from Denby High, and went on to earn his Master’s degree from Central Michigan University while working full time at Chrysler Corporation and supporting his family. Cosimo was always a hardworking man and truly loved what he did. Cosimo was the best father to his two beloved daughters, Shawn and Christy. Family meant the world to Cosimo and he cherished every moment he was able to be with them. In his free time, Cosimo loved to go golfing with his family and friends, visit different golf courses around the United States, and was always ready to have a good time. He will be forever loved and remembered by his family, friends, work associates, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

Beloved father of Shawn (Kevin) Riopelle, and Christy (Vince) Mannino; cherished Papa of Anthony Jacob Riopelle, Jordyn Leigh Riopelle, Vincent Cosimo Mannino, and Isabella (Izzy) Therese Mannino; dearest brother of Monica Ceckowski, Francis “Mark” (Patricia) Simonetta, Sheila (Brian) Taylor, Kevin (Debbie) Simonetta, Charlene Simonetta, Shelley (Mike) Rumley, Stacie (Lance) Thorpe, and Corey (Cynthia) Simonetta; loved god-father of Mark Simonetta, Ryan Simonetta, Carter Simonetta, and Christina Brown; dear owner of his cherished Companion and Best Friend Cozzi.

Cosimo was preceded in death by his loving parents Rose Mary and Cosimo Simonetta Sr., and brothers Randy Simonetta, and Scott Simonetta. Survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, friends, mother of his two daughters, Therese Ann Brown, the Brown Family and his colleagues.

Visitation to take place on Thursday, November 3 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and Friday, November 4 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary that day at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 5 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Sterling Heights. Instate, or gathering time, 9:00 AM. Mass at 9:30 AM.
