Clark Dennis Cherry, age 83 of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Clark was born on February 3, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward and Madeleine Cherry.
Loving father of Denise (the late Ronald) Szewczul, Clark (Patty) Cherry, Christopher (Sherri Siems) Cherry, Carl (Kerri) Cherry, and Michael (Cara) Cherry. Loving grandfather of Renee (Nick) Somers, Kayla (Joey) Hatt, Sarah (Jacob Hasselbach), Matthew, Kyle, Nicholas, Rachel, Jacob, Logan, Sierra, Caitlin, and Colin. Dearest brother of Cliff Cherry, and Curt Cherry. Loved brother-in-law of Barbara (the late Ralph) Nowak, Annette (the late John) Soave, Judy (Robert) Preston, Cynthia (the late Robert) Hecker, Alice (Philip) Adams, and Marcia (Gordon) Book.
Clark is preceded in passing by his beloved wife Patricia Cherry, parents Edward and Madeleine Cherry, siblings Edward, Betty, and William, sister-in-law Mary Ereaux, and brother-in-law David Baginski.
Clark was always an incredibly hardworking family man, working three jobs during most of his life to provide for his family that he cherished. Clark was also a proud veteran, joining the United States Army after high school. He continued to support his fellow veterans throughout his life by volunteering and helping with many fundraisers. Clark met the love of his life and future bride, Patricia, on a blind date set up by Patricia’s cousin. They quickly fell in love, and married in 1963 at St. Dorothy’s Church in Warren, Michigan. Clark and Patricia were always very active for many years at St. Dorothy’s, and later in their lives became parishioners at St. Paul of Tarsus when they moved to Macomb Twp. Family was always everything to Clark! He cherished every family get together, and loved spending time with his children, their spouses and his grandchildren.
Clark will be forever remembered by all who loved him.
Visitation to take place on Monday, November 14 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a scripture service at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass to take place on Tuesday, November 15 at St. Paul of Tarsus. Gathering, or instate time, 9:30. Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
Clark will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery next to his beloved wife on a later date.
