It is with heavy hearts and warm memories that we announce the passing of Clare Pety on January 16, 2026, at the remarkable age of 96. Clare was born on December 31, 1929, to Emory and Mary Gegus in Detroit, where she cultivated a life rich in love, laughter, and adventure.
Clare was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Pety, and together they created a lifetime of cherished moments. She is survived by her devoted son, Ralph, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie, as well as her adoring grandson, Drew, who brought immense joy to her life. Clare took great pride in being an active presence in her family’s life and remained a vibrant spirit until her final days.
An avid enthusiast of the outdoors, Clare found joy and camaraderie on the golf course, the bowling alley, and while playing bocci ball. Her zest for life was infectious, and she always encouraged others to stay active and enjoy the world around them.
