Cindy Mooty-Hoffmann, a loving wife, mother, and dedicated educator, passed away on November 17th, 2024. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched throughout her life.
Cindy is survived by her devoted husband, Peter; their three beloved daughters, Helen, Kathryn, and Elizabeth; and her father, Fred, as well as her siblings, David, and Donald. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Donna.
In 2015 Cindy achieved her doctorate of philosophy, and for over a decade, she dedicated her career to Oakland University and Oakland Community College, where she worked tirelessly to inspire and educate generations of students. Outside of her professional life, Cindy was a joy to be around with her bubbly personality and quick wit. She found joy in the simple pleasures that life had to offer. She loved tending to her garden, cheering on the Tigers, and creating handmade treasures with her crochet hook. She was an avid baker, hiker, and traveler, always seeking new adventures and experiences to share with her loved ones. Her love for animals and the great outdoors was only matched by her love for her family, and spending time with the girls. For those attending services for Cindy, we encourage you to wear purple attire.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Michigan or Karmanos Cancer Institute in Cindy’s name.
