Charles Anthony Joseph, age 73, passed away on December 20, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Charles was born on March 23, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan to George and Marie Joseph. Chuck was the oldest of the eleven children, growing up in a tight knit family with all his cousins, aunts and uncles living in the same neighborhood as his family. Charles attended St. Ambrose High School, where he was the Varsity Football Captain. Chuck’s passion for football continued for the rest of his life, always staying in touch with his past teammates, and rooting for his favorite teams (Michigan State and the Detroit Lions). It was after high school that Chuck would meet the love of his life, and future bride, Carol Duhaime. Although Chuck and Carol attended the same schools, it was at Carol’s job at the local bank that they were introduced. On June 22, 1973, they married at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores, a year to the date that they first got engaged. Together, Chuck and Carol would raise three beloved children: Scott, Lila, and Anthony. Chuck was a wonderful father and taught them what it means to be a good honest person through his words and example. Chuck was the proud owner of Chesterfield Wood Products, and for many years before retiring worked in the construction industry. In his free time, Chuck loved to play poker with his buddies whom he considered as family, hosting many of the game nights in his very own poker room at his home. However, the most important thing to Chuck was his family and the time and memories that he created with them. Chuck’s fighting spirit, and loving heart will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Beloved husband of Carol Joseph; loving father of Scott (Dianna) Joseph, Lila (Joseph) Scheckelhoff, and Anthony Joseph; proud grandfather of Julia Joseph, Anna Joseph, Faith Scheckelhoff, and Nolan Scheckelhoff; dearest brother of Alex, Dominic, Stephen, Martin, Mary, Daniel, Carmel, and Samuel. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family and numerous friends.
Charles is preceded in passing by his parents George and Marie Joseph, and siblings George and Lila.
