It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Campanelli, beloved father, dedicated community leader, and cherished friend, who departed this life on June 12, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on January 21, 1950, Charles illuminated the lives of all who knew him with his boundless passion for life and unwavering commitment to others. A devoted father, he is survived by his children, Shannon Galloway, Charles Campanelli Jr. and Jeffrey Campanelli, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and compassion. Loving grandfather, to Nathan, Benjamin and Lillian Galloway and Levi Evans. Charles instilled in them the values of service, integrity, and the joy of shared experiences, often through their cherished outings together, deepening their bond as they enjoyed camping, fishing, and barbeques. Charles loved cooking old family recipes, as well as trying new ones. Charles loved hosting family dinners and sharing wonderful food and memories with everyone at his table. There was always room for one more if needed. He is also survived by his siblings, Maureen, Janice, Cathy, Joe and Sandy. As well as his long-time partner, Connie and former wife, Joan Campanelli.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law, Christopher Galloway.
An ardent supporter of community initiatives, Charles dedicated much of his life to volunteering, lending his time and energy to charitable causes, and guiding youth as a Boy Scout Leader. His natural leadership and desire to help others served as an inspiration to countless individuals, encouraging them to embrace the spirit of service.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life and the countless memories he created. The visitation will be on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 2-8 pm at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home, 46530 Romeo Plank, Macomb, MI 48044. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church 41300 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038 on Friday, June 27, 2025, In-state from 9:30 am until time of the Mass at 10:00 AM., where we will honor the legacy of a man who gave so much to his family and community. A reception will follow the service, allowing all who were touched by his generosity and warmth to share stories and reflect on the beautiful impact he made in their lives. Charles Campanelli will be deeply missed by all, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts, reminding us to cherish every moment and to give selflessly to others. In his memory, let us continue to foster the love and kindness he embodied.
