It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Allen Bailey, a beloved husband, cherished father, and esteemed member of the community. Charles departed from this world on November 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 5, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of John and Bernadine Bailey.
Throughout his life, Charles was guided by compassion, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. His journey of love began when he met the love of his life, Nina. On May 4, 1974, in East Detroit, Michigan, they exchanged vows and embarked on a remarkable 49-year journey of marital bliss. Their enduring love story spanned an incredible 53 years, filled with shared memories and cherished moments. The two did everything together.
Charles was known for his remarkable skills as a handyman, always lending a helping hand to those in need. He went to Michigan Tech for a short time, and afterwards he completed and received his Journeymen card as a skilled trades metal model maker. His dedication to his work was exemplified by his 39-year tenure at General Motors, where he diligently served until his retirement in 2012. Charles enjoyed working on vehicles, and on the cottage.
When not engrossed in work, Charles found solace and rejuvenation in nature, particularly at his cherished cottage in Port Sanilac. Charles was an animal lover; especially dogs. It was in Port Sanilac that he embraced the serene beauty of the surroundings alongside his beloved dogs, taking long walks that brought him immense joy and peace.
Cherished husband of Nina; loved father to Shawn and Jason; cherished brother to Brian (Ann); proud Uncle to Luke, Alex, and Mark.
