In Loving Memory of Chad Michael Nichter
November 29, 1988 – April 18, 2025
Chad Michael Nichter, of Chesterfield , Michigan, passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 36. Though his time with us was far too short, Chad lived every moment with passion, laughter, and love—leaving behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Chad was the beloved husband of seven years to the love of his life Karrie, with whom he shared a beautiful ten-year journey filled with adventure, shared dreams, and unwavering love. He was a proud and devoted father to his sweet daughter Brielle who was nothing but a Daddy’s girl as well as a guiding role model to his youngest and only son Kameron. His children were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent making memories with them.
He was the first born son of Michael and the late Susan Nichter, a protective and supportive brother to Todd and sister Leigha, and a fun-loving uncle whose energy was infectious. Chad’s family was his rock, and he returned that love tenfold—with a fierce loyalty and a heart as big as his smile.
Professionally, Chad found purpose and pride in his career at Rocket Close, where his natural leadership, positive attitude, and uplifting humor left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He was more than a coworker—he was a friend, a motivator, and a bright presence who could light up any room.
A true Detroit boy at heart in every aspect; he loved the city at his core. A Lions fan through thick and thin, Chad’s loyalty to his team never wavered. Whether it was cheering during games or hosting legendary Super Bowl parties, he brought people together in a way that only he could—always with amazing food, humor, and impressive knowledge of all sports. Chad had a true gift on the grill and smoker; his mood immediately lightened when he was in his garage with rap music blasting. Chad was a DJ at heart and knew how to read a room to ensure everyone was having a great time. He was the first guy on the golf course to pull out his speaker and offer up a playlist. Other hobbies that Chad lived by was golfing with his Dad, brother, and buddies either on the physical course or on the ps5. He was the biggest sports fan in the metro Detroit area; he loved watching all Detroit sports and collecting autographed memorabilia of all the greats.
He loved to travel and explore new places, especially MLB fields with his wife, building unforgettable experiences along the way. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends, creating memories that will now serve as treasures to all who knew him.
Chad’s spirit was magnetic—his laughter contagious, his kindness genuine, and his heart full of love. Though he is no longer with us, his light will never fade. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
Chad is survived by his wife Karrie Nichter (Meyers); children Brielle(4), Kameron (1), dog (Kody); parents, Mike Nichter, Jim and Gwen Meyers; siblings, Todd (Alicia) Nichter, Leigha Nichter, Kelli (Brian) Helgemo, and Tiffanie (Kyle) Decker; Grandparents, Richard Botwin, Betty Nichter, and Elizabeth VanDrese; Nieces and Nephews, Carson and Chase Helgemo, Kade and Cole Nichter, and Erin Decker.
