Cathleen Margaret Rivard

Cathleen Margaret Rivard (Bachand), born on October 13, 1947, in Superior, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Macomb, Michigan. A devoted homemaker and a loving wife, Cathy shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Paul. Together, they traveled to all 50 states, creating cherished memories and adventures that filled their lives with joy.

Cathy was a vibrant soul whose life revolved around her family. She was the proud mother of four children--Elizabeth (Matthew), Jennifer (Kevin), Carolyn (Erik), and Matthew (Catherine). Also, an adoring grandmother of eleven grandchildren-- Mackenzie, Alexandra, Spencer, Emily, Reagan, Zane, Jason, Molly, Wyatt, Corey, and Joey. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she delighted in spoiling her grandchildren with warmth and affection.

Her passions were many, and the essence of Cathy's spirit was reflected in her hobbies. A talented seamstress, she found joy in sewing, knitting, and crocheting, often creating special gifts for her loved ones. Cathy was also an exceptional cook and baker, known for making the best buns in the world. She embraced every holiday with enthusiasm, especially Christmas, where her home became a haven of warmth and celebration. Baking Christmas cookies with her children and grandchildren was always a love-filled highlight of the season. Cherished holiday traditions and family recipes have been passed on as part of her legacy.

In her garden, Cathy nurtured both plants and dreams, cultivating beauty in every season. With a heart full of love and laughter, she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Terrance and Edith Bachand, and her sister Alice (late Richard). She is also survived by her siblings-- Terri (late David), Donald (Liana), and Mark (Kim).

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 2-8 pm at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home, 46530 Romeo Plank, Macomb, MI 48044.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at St. Isidore Church, 18201 23 Mile Road, Macomb, MI 48042. In State at 9:30 am, and Celebration Mass at 10 am. Remembrance luncheon to follow.
