Catherine Marie Andrade

Catherine Marie Andrade, born on October 29, 1948, peacefully passed away at the age of 75 on March 21, 2024.

Catherine, the cherished daughter of Giovanni and Domenica Martillini, graced this world with her presence in Detroit, Michigan on October 29, 1948. After graduating from Servite High School in 1966, Catherine embarked on a fulfilling career journey at Detroit Edison, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 2001, holding a managerial role. Family occupied the core of Catherine's heart, as she showered endless love upon her beloved son, Rob, and her adored grandchildren. Fondly known as 'Gumma' to her grandchildren, Catherine's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to her nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her "AC." She found immense joy in coaching her son in little league and rejoiced in supporting her family in all their endeavors. Catherine's attention to detail was incomparable, showcasing her impeccable style and grace that she exuded effortlessly. In her leisure time, Catherine found solace in watching sports and cherished her collections of Beatles memorabilia and Betty Boop items. Her selflessness knew no bounds, always placing the needs of others before her own, embodying the true essence of compassion and kindness. The legacy of Catherine's warmth and generosity will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories, a testament to a life well-lived and deeply loved.

Visitation to take place on Friday, March 29 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home.

Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, March 30 at the funeral home. Instate, or gathering time, 9:30 AM. Service at 10:30 AM. Procession to Resurrection to follow where committal prayers and inurnment will take place.

Beloved mother of Rob (Rita) Andrade; proud grandmother of Domenic Andrade, and Brooklynn Andrade; cherished sister of Sheryl (Dave) Kazmer; loving aunt of David (Kate) Kazmer, Stephanie Kazmer, John Guy (Valerie) Martillini, Molinee Martillini, and Sam Martillini; dearest great-aunt of Marigold Kazmer. Catherine is also survived by many loving family members and numerous friends.

Catherine is preceded in passing by her loved parents Giovanni and Domenica Martillini, brother John Martillini, and nephew Jason Martillini.
