It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Phillips, born Resch, who left this world on May 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. Born on March 22, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, to Gerhart and Jean Resch, Carol was the cherished eldest of six siblings.
A dedicated Speech Pathologist, Carol devoted 39 years of her life to enriching the lives of students at Chippewa Valley Schools, working tirelessly with children from preschool age through high school. Her passion for fostering communication and connection in young people was evident in every interaction, and her impact on the lives of those she worked with will be deeply felt for years to come. After her retirement, she continued her love of working with children by working with friends at a daycare.
Carol was married to the love of her life, Dan Phillips, and together they created a nurturing home filled with love, laughter, and family. She was a proud mother to Bridget (Mike) and John (Paloma), a beloved stepmother to Jackie, Dave (Sheila), Jill, and Susie, and a doting grandma to Alexa, Caden, Keegan, Adriana, Nuria, Tyler, and Grace. Carol also leaves behind her beloved siblings Eileen (Eddie), Kathy (Rick), and Lore (Karen), along with many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Judy Resch. Carol's affection extended beyond her family to her pets, who were cherished members of her household.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Carol had a zest for life that was reflected in her many hobbies. She enjoyed traveling, crafting, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family, forging memories that will be treasured forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to MD Anderson (http://gifts.mdanderson.org), a testament to her compassionate spirit, which extended to all who encountered her.
A celebration of Carol's remarkable life will be held at Villa Penna’s on Saturday, May 30, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a buffet lunch served from noon until 2:00 PM. We invite all who knew and loved Carol to join us in honoring the memory of a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
Carol Phillips will be deeply missed, but her legacy of compassion and love will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends.
