Carol Christine Ferdinande, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, was born in Detroit on November 29, 1952 to her parents, Raymond and Betty Zampich. She married Melvin Ferdinande in 1973 and they enjoyed 51 happy and devoted years together.
Carol lived a life full of love, kindness and generosity that reflected her strong Christian values. Her greatest joy was raising her children and then being blessed with four grandchildren to shower with her love. She treasured every minute she spent with them. Carol had lots of love to share. Before they were blessed with their own children, she and Mel opened their hearts and home to 38 foster babies who were awaiting a permanent home. She could always be counted on to offer good advice in a quiet, non-judgmental way if she was consulted. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed reading, needlepoint, and collecting special Christmas ornaments.
Beloved wife of Melvin, cherished mother of Nicholas (Teresa), Stacey (Paul) Misukewicz, and David (Danielle); proud grandmother to Lillian and Julian Misukewicz and Charlotte and Elizabeth Ferdinande. Loving sister to Sharron (Bill) Johnson and Barbara (Joe) Zerillo.
Carol was called to her heavenly home on September 24, 2024 where she joined her parents and brothers, Ralph and Kenneth. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
